Meghan Thoreau

Meghan Thoreau is a planner with Southern Tier Central Regional Planning and Development Board in Corning, NY where she assists with energy development and water quality issues for the southern tier region (Schuyler, Steuben, and Chemung Counties). She coordinates projects and information concerning Marcellus Shale natural gas exploration and provides ongoing support and technical assistants for the county natural gas task forces, water quality committees, and stormwater coalitions.

Meghan Thoreau holds a BS in Construction Management from Milwaukee School of Engineering and a MRP in City and Regional Planning from Cornell University. In 2006 to 2008 she began her planning career as the town planner in Pinedale, Wyoming; a rapidly expanding western energy “boom town.” She has also worked in the planning departments in the towns of Ithaca and Dryden.
