Dr. Goldstein is Professor of Environmental and Occupational Health and the former Dean of the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health where he currently heads the Center for Healthy Environments and Communities.  He is a physician, board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and in Toxicology.  Dr Goldstein is author or co-author of over 150 publications in the peer-reviewed literature, and is an elected member of the National Academies of Science Institute of Medicine. He has chaired more than a dozen National Research Council (NRC) and IOM committees, most recently the Committee on Sustainability at EPA. He served as Assistant Administrator for Research and Development of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, 1983-1985.   He has been president of the Society for Risk Analysis and has served as a member or chairperson of numerous US governmental and WHO committees, including chairperson of the NIH Toxicology Study Section and EPA’s Clean Air Scientific Advisory Committee.
